Born in Encino, California, Benji Gregory was born into a family of entertainers and began appearing in commercials as an infant. His early credits include an uncredited role in a 1984 episode of Alice, followed by guest appearances that same year on The A-Team and T.J. Hooker. From 1986 through to 1990 he held the role of Brian Tanner in the TV series ALF. After graduating from school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and became an aerographer's mate, serving three years and receiving an honorable medical discharge.
Benji Gregory died from vehicular heatstroke at the age of 46.
