Jane Danson is an English actress born in Bury, Greater Manchester, England as Jane Dawson. She is known for her portrayal of Leanne Battersby in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street. She initially auditioned for the role of Zoe Tattersall. Other television roles have included PC Gemma Osbourne inThe Bill, Monica Jones inThe Grand, and Eileen Critchley in Alan Bleasdale's G.B.H., which was her TV debut in 1991(under the name of Jane Dawson). Another early TV appearance was inChildren's Ward.
She has two children with husband and fellow Street star Robert Beck.
