Jung Jin Young

Jung Jin Young is a South Korean actor born in Ssangmun, Seongbuk, Seoul. He graduated from Hanshin Elementary School (한신초등학교), Suyu Middle School (수유중학교), and Shinil High School (신일고등학교), before earning a Bachelor's Degree in Korean Language and Literature from Seoul National University (서울대학교).

He began acting in high school, performing in a church play, Gold Crown Jesus (금관의 예수), and later joined the Seoul National University theater club and the Han River theater group (한강극단). Jung made his stage debut in 1988 in the play Confrontation (대결). His entry into film came in 1997 when he worked as part of the directing staff for Green Fish (초록물고기). After an actor unexpectedly left the project, Jung was asked to take over the role of the older brother of the character Mak Dong I.

Jung pursued several script contests but initially faced setbacks. In 1998, he officially began his acting career with the film A Promise (약속), earning the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards (청룡영화상).

Since his debut, he has not had a fixed agency, but in August 2015, he signed an exclusive contract with FNC Entertainment (FNC엔터테인먼트) and in June 2022, he signed with Highcon Entertainment (하이콘엔터테인먼트).
