In the fourth episode of Tough as Nails, which was titled, "Man Made It, These Hands Can Fix It" the contestants go out to a motocross racetrack, where their first team challenge was to create three layers of the track or "whoops". Dirty Hands won the challenge and evened up the team score. After the team challenge, it switched to the individual challenge where in heats of two, contestants had to run across a mud pit to an ATV, and then attach a log to the ATV while driving the ATV to the other side. This turned out to be a very unfair challenge though, because the competitors that went later got their ATVs stuck, which meant that they had to use the winch to get their ATVs out, which cost them more time. Marcus, who had gone fairly early, was able to win the challenge and $4,000. Both Carly and Paul had the slowest times and were forced to go into overtime. For the overtime challenge, both Carly and Paul had to fix the shock absorbers on an ATV, and they had the option of using a power washer. Carly went for the washer, while Paul decided to fix the ATV while it was still dirty. Carly also made the mistake of jacking the ATV up before taking off the tires, which cost her valuable time, and she eventually became the third contestant to punch out of the individual competition.
