Hans arrives at the EEC to take up a junior position. Lionised by powerful members of the EEC, courted by entrepreneur Vlad Milcic and seduced by a beautiful woman, Hans is an instant success.

Hans is now responsible for the EEC's soft fruit. He must rid the Market of an enormous surplus of rotting plums. Milcic's suggestion to sell them to Bulgaria finds favour with Hans and his bosses.

As the plum convoy journeys en route to Eastern Europe, Hans becomes increasingly concerned by the actions of his thuggish companions.

Hans has placed the 20 million dollars in the private bank account of Villeneuve, the Director of Agriculture, believing him to be the only person in Brussels he can trust. But his trust is misplaced.
