Larry Duke is an actor making his film debut in Hollywood. He gets a phone call from his New York girlfriend Janice Brandt. She is an older woman who sacrificed her marriage and acting ambition to advance Larry's career. She tells Larry that her husband Ed followed her to New York and showed up drunk at her apartment. He was knocked unconscious in a scuffle. Larry persuades Janice to smother Ed with a pillow so that she can return to Hollywood. She agrees and reluctantly commits murder. In Hollywood, Larry informs police about the murder in New York. He then head upstairs to join his new bride, whom he married to further advance his Hollywood career.

You'll Be the Death of Me

During a lovers' quarrel Dandy Arthur kills his ex-girlfriend. Unfortunately, a button torn from her coats lands in his pocket during the struggle. His wife finds the button and Dandy sets out to kill her as well. Eventually, however, Dandy gives himself away by talking too much and is arrested by the police.

Blood Bargain

Jim Derry is a hit man who is hired to kill bookie Eddie Breech. Jim begins to have second thoughts when he finds out that Eddie's wife Connie is confined to a wheelchair and that her husband is cheating on her. Jim talks to the Breechs and agrees to help them fake Eddie's death so that Jim can get paid for the hit and the two can start over in Mexico. Jim goes to the morgue and acquires a body. He puts Eddie's wallet and wedding ring on the corpse and sets it on fire after putting it in a car. Jim gets paid for his hit but is arrested. The police found the car and believe Eddie is dead. Jim tells the police that Eddie is in Mexico. The police then bring Connie into the room. She accuses Jim of shooting Eddie the night before. Jim has been framed, as Connie killed her husband and had Jim take the fall.

Nothing Ever Happens in Linvale

Mrs. Logan calls Sheriff Ben Wister when she begins to believe that her neighbor Harry Jarvis killed his wife and buried her in his back yard. She notes that Harry has been acting strangely. He has been digging in the yard all night and has been drinkinf beer all day. She also notes that Mrs. Jarvis's annoying little dog has also gone missing. When the police interview him, Harry claims that his wife left him for another man. He also claims that his wife left her dog with him and that it died after an illness. The sheriff is unconvinced by Harry's explanation and gets a search warrant to dig up his back yard. When the police start digging they find a dead dog and believe Harry's story. Later, Harry visits Mrs. Logan who is in fact his secret lover. Harry did kill his wife and he and Mrs. Logan bury Mrs. Jarvis's body where the dog was once buried. They think that the police would never bother to check the dog's grave again. All goes according to plan until Sheriff Wister returns and tells them that they must dig up the dog's body since its against the law to bury dead pets in the back yard.

Starring the Defense

Miles Crawford is an actor-turned-lawyer. His son Tod is arrested and put on trial for murder. Tod is guilty of the crime but Miles makes an impassioned summation that manages to sway both the judge and the jury. Unfortunately, the prosecutor is a movie fan and points out that the summation was lifted word for word from one of Miles's old movies in which he played a defense attorney in a case similar to his son's.

The Cadaver

Medical student Skip Baxter has a drinking problem and a practical jokester for a roommate named Doc Carroll. Doc wants Skip to quit drinking and cooks up a scheme. He takes a cadaver from the medical school morgue and dresses it to look like a waitress named Ruby. He then puts it into Skip's bed as he is sleeping off a hangover. When Skip wakes up, he sees the body and becomes convinced he committed murder while drunk. He wraps the body in a rug and disposes of it. When he returns to school, he finds out that Ruby is alive and that Doc has gotten into trouble for stealing a cadaver. Skip agrees to replace the body to get Doc out of trouble. At the next anatomy class, however, the professor reveals the replacement cadaver to be the body of Doc Carroll.

The Magic Shop

Thanks to a thoughtful script and persuasive acting, the story works, though you may see the major twist coming. So how's young Paul (Byrnes) going to escape prison; after all, he's got a slick reputation to protect. Besides, the head guard (McNally) is one arrogant son of a gun, and keeps challenging Paul to just try to escape. Also, how's old broken-down inmate Doc (Keith) going to help since he sort of totters around.

Anyone for Murder?

A professor decides to research married couples who have proclivities toward killing their spouse. So he advertises that in so many words and in a newspaper, no less. No wonder Barry Nelson as the prof keeps rolling his eyes in loopy fashion. I'm guessing such research is not part of his school's core curriculum.

The Sign of Satan

The problem is that they think it's from a movie but it's actually from a Satanic ceremony. And, they insist that Jorla is a great actor...but he ain't acting in the film! What's next? Charlie is a real jerk. After embezzling $60,000, his partner, Eddie, catches him and threatens to send Charlie to jail unless he returns the money. But Charlie feels entitled to the money because he's a sociopath...and doesn't feel the least bit of guilt about his actions. So, he tries to kill Eddie...but ends up failing miserably. So, he then decides to fake his own death...and he plans on running off to some other country with his equally mercenary girlfriend. What's next? See the show...but Charlie's solution is really, really dopey!

Panicked, he leaves in a hurry along with obnoxious cab driver Kirby. Trouble is Kirby turns up later much to George's chagrin. So how will things sort out for the now besieged George

The story begins in court. Lew is on trial for murder and his lawyer, Ned, was able to convince the jury that Lew is innocent. However, shortly after this, Lew confesses to Ned that he DID commit the murder....and he seems pretty happy about it. Well, Ned isn't happy...in fact, he's angry that he helped a scum-bag beat the system. What's next? Plenty!

Isabel

Howard is out walking late at night when the police stop him. Isabel Smith told the police she'd been sexually assaulted by someone and since it is late and Howard had no alibi, the police bring him in for questioning. During this time, the police do something very inappropriate...they bring in Isabel to identify Howard. The problem is that there was no lineup...no alternate suspects. And, in such a case an eye witness is less reliable. Regardless, Howard soon finds himself convicted of this assault and he goes to prison.

Body in the Barn

Bessie is upset because her husband died....and it might have been due to a new fence installed by her very grouchy neighbor. Through most of the rest of the episode, Bessie and this lady fight and later, Bessie becomes friends with the nasty woman's mild mannered husband. However, when he disappears, Bessie is convinced her neighbor killed her husband and she works hard to prove it. What's next? Well, a whole heck of a lot...that's for sure!!
