A homesick Donna visits Runcorn with tales of her fabulous new boyfriend, Gaz applies for parental responsibility of Corinthian and Louise struggles with motherhood.

Janet decides she wants to become a Police Community Support Officer, Wesley attempts to win Donna back and Donna is furious when Gaz tries to set her up with a tramp.

Donna and Gaz decide they are not ready to have a happy divorce yet, while Wesley tries to fit in with the gang.

Donna and Gaz have decided to get divorced and it takes them on a path down memory lane, looking back at their relationship in a series of fantasies and flashbacks.
