Everyone tries to cope with the physical and mental toll of the week's events.

It's September 21, 2001 and the squads continue to battle through their emotions and their misgivings about their hero status, while working double shifts and spending every free moment at "the pile" searching for the missing; Kim returns to work and teams up with Doc, which allows an emotionally frayed Alex to return to paramedic duty; an exhausted Sully attempts to co-exist with his prospective in-laws while he waits for an opportunity to marry Tatiana.

Yokas and Bosco lose a jumper, the whole Third Watch join in to save a little girl's life.

Doc's colleagues nominate him as their choice for the "Paramedic of the Year" award but he is questioning his life choices. Faith is worried about her health while Kim worries about loosing Joey's custody to Jimmy.

Bosco and Yokas misjudge a sexual encounter in a car with tragic consequences.

No one can find Bosco after a sexual assault suspect is found dead. While Bosco spends time with family, Yokas, Ty and Sully try to clear him as a murder suspect.

Boscoe and Faith are on a call of a possible terrorist threat, that ends up being an explosive event.

Doc is up for paramedic of the year and is being followed by a film crew.

Doherty fights through a burning apartment building to save a frightened boy of Joey's age. Meanwhile, a guilt-ridden Doc can't stay away from a recuperating teenager, Ryan Buckley.

Carlos has a life-changing experience in the hospital after he falls down the fire pole. Tatiana leaves her mother-in-law alone in the house for a moment, with disastrous results.

Bosco tries to protect an old ESU sharp shooter from spiraling out of control.

Bosco is giving Faith the cold shoulder and teams up with Ross for patrol. Faith teams up with rookie Gusler.

Tatiana panics and leaves Sully's apartment.

Alex's father is found, and the funeral held 233 days after 9/11.

Fred reluctantly goes to the doctor for a physical. The power goes out while he and Faith are leaving the doctor's office, and they're left stuck in an elevator. Everyone else is dealing with the pressures of the city with no electricity.

This was a special non-fiction episode which told, in their own words, the real stories of the police officers, firefighters, paramedics, emergency services personnel, and their families in the aftermath of 9/11/01. The regular starring cast members did brief introductions to each of this documentary's segments, which featured the real police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and emergency services personnel who work as part-time technical advisors and cast members in the production of every regular ""Third Watch"" episode.
