Tom Ballard arrives at Bayview where he becomes a new resident due to his weak willed son and his daughter in law who runs roughshod over her husband. Upon arrival, Tom meets Diana Trent who's main goal in life seems to be to torment the staff of the facility. She takes a instant dislike to Tom and his antics until he goes on a hunger strike because of the poor quality of food served by the Senior facility.
