It was not played again from 1903 through 1915 returning on 1 January 1916 as the 2nd Rose bowl Game. This 1st ever televised Bowl game aired live from the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasedena, California. The teams involved in this game were the Stanford Indians (9-1) and the Illinois Fighting Illini (8-0-1).
