Alan and the team head to Hull to makeover the garden of a 90-year-old Land Girl and Ballroom dancing devotee.

Alan Titchmarsh and the team are in Nottingham to create a new garden for an exceptional 8-year-old Tilly Sawford.

Six years ago Tilly was so severely scalded in a freak domestic accident that she has spent the time since then in and out of hospital. Her scarred skin doesn't grow like regular skin which has lead to huge mobility challenges as her body grows. Nevertheless, despite the pain and disfigurement of her body, Tilly has remained a sunny, inspirational little girl. The whole family are immensely proud of her. Tilly's two brothers and two sisters all muck in to help with her care and mum Emma and dad Kyle don't know how she remains so upbeat.

This week Alan and the team head to Canterbury to meet an outstanding soldier Gurkha Hari Budha Magar (36) and his young family.

Despite tragically losing both his legs in the Afghanistan war in an IUD incident, Hari remains focused on helping others. Most recently, the selfless hero made the journey to Cumbria to help pensioners whose homes were hit by this year's terrible floods.

Although he thinks nothing of going out of his way for others, his own garden has remained a challenge he can't manage. So his friends and colleagues asked Alan and the team to help. With Hari's Nepalese homeland in mind, they transform his awkward, overlooked corner plot into a colourful private sanctuary for the whole family. So popular is this young Gurkha even Joanna Lumley pops up to wish him well.

Alan and the team head to Bolton to surprise 39-year-old RSPCA officer Caroline Hall, and turn her wasteland of a garden into something she will love to spend time in. This is the longest, thinnest plot they have ever tackled, and the idea is to transform it into a spectacular animal-friendly haven. Tragically, this outdoors girl and life-long animal lover was left completely paralysed from her neck down following a near fatal spinal stroke at the age of just 33, resulting in her once beloved garden becoming an overgrown and inaccessible wilderness. But with some clever design, and a few top tips, Alan and the team turn it into a garden that Caroline is not only free to move around in, but one she absolutely falls in love with as well.

Gardening guru Alan Titchmarsh and his team of experts head to Eastleigh near Southampton to transform an uninviting patch of uneven lawn into a cruise ship-inspired pleasure garden, complete with a patio shaped like the prow of a boat. They do this as a thank you to extraordinary nurse Rosie Mitchell and her hard-working family. Rosie has been a paediatric nurse for over 30 years, and has consistently gone above and beyond the regular duties of a carer. The grandmother's unique empathy and support for her young patients and their families in the most difficult of circumstances have made a difference to thousands. Not satisfied with that as a full time job, she has also set up a charity that has raised over 1.5 million pounds for the paediatric intensive care unit in Southampton. The money has purchased ambulances, incubators and has saved many lives.

The garden Makeover team, headed by gardening guru Alan Titichmarsh are in Durham this week to create a show-stopping final garden of the series for a family in need.

When 39-year-old local lad Philip Hunter discovered he had a terminal cancer he got in touch to ask the team to build a special garden for him, his wife Sam and two boys, Ethan (14) and Josh (9) to enjoy in his final years.

His eldest son and keen amateur naturalist Ethan is profoundly deaf so Philip was especially keen for their garden to be a place where he could safely pursue his specific interests – namely wildlife.

Sadly, much sooner than was expected, Philip died in January this year – leaving his whole family distraught. Understanding how important the garden was to Philip, Alan and the team decided to go ahead and create the garden he would have wanted for them all. The team get super-creative this week and by using some clever design, fill the modestly sized plot with breathe-taking features and wonderful details which the family love.

In the first of this new series, Alan Titchmarsh and the team head to Plymouth to create a show-stopping contemporary garden for an outstanding ex-Marine, Mark Ormrod, 36, and his young family. Despite tragically losing both his legs and an arm in Afghanistan in an IED incident, Mark made a remarkable recovery and has become an inspiration to injured veterans everywhere.

This time Alan Titchmarsh and the team head to Manchester to turn a concrete patch of dismal cracked pavers and hard edges in to a beautiful classic cottage garden. The transformation is for Salford born identical twins Rita and Betty Mills (87).

Alan Titchmarsh and the team head to Chandlers Ford near Eastleigh in Hampshire this week to turn a neglected suburban back garden into a woodland-style retreat complete with a rustic sunken outdoor living room.The garden is for the Richardson family who are facing a very difficult future. After several very challenging years, father of two, Jason has been taken off the heart and kidney transplant list and survives only by the means of a heavy portable external machine which keeps his heart working and three weekly sessions of kidney dialysis. This means the whole family are now tied very much to their home and desperately need an outdoor space on their doorstep that can become an escape.

This week Alan and the team create a garden like no other they've done before.The team head to Shrewsbury in Shropshire to meet Air Ambulance heroine Gina Constable. The former nurse's dedication to this vital life-saving service is unprecedented. For over 21 years she has helped raise more than a quarter of a million pounds - a figure which works out at over 100 life-saving air ambulance missions.

Alan and the team surprise a 93-year-old veteran from WW2. Jack King was a Japanese prisoner of war on the infamous Thailand Burma railway. He is now a widower and wants to revive the beautiful garden he shared with his wife Audrey. Jack is also a passionate painter who longs to access the studio he built himself at the end of his garden. Sadly this garden has become a no go area for Jack. The team work hard to create a beautiful garden full of happy memories, art and a stunning new studio that Jack is able to access easily.

Alan Titchmarsh and his team transform a garden in Southampton into a super-stylish contemporary outdoor space for the Jordan family, who are still coming to terms with the loss of devoted mother and wife, Shelly-Ann. Alan and the team take on the challenge of creating a garden that will suit the whole family, and also keep Shelly-Ann's memory alive.

Such is the dedication of 28-year-old inspirational zookeeper John Paul Houston, he chooses not only to work but also live full time at Blackpool Zoo. When he's not raising money for wildlife preservation, the committed conservationist's extraordinary hand-rearing miracles have helped make Blackpool Zoo one of the top centres for ornithological study and bird conservation. Alan meets John Paul in the penguin enclosure and takes on the challenge of transforming an uninspiring scruffy piece of lawn, next to and overlooking the public car park. With a clever design, he turns it into a private retreat for John Paul to share with all the other dedicated keepers at the zoo. Alan and the team fill it with animal- and wildlife-friendly ideas and share their tips on clever ways to create privacy without building walls and fences.

Alan and the Team head to Nottingham this week to surprise Inspirational boxing coach Marcellus Baz (41) with not one, but two garden transformations. First, the team visit Marcellus' gym, where they work to turn a dark alley into a productive kitchen garden, before heading to Marcellus' own home to transform his garden into a Moroccan-inspired outdoor space.

As part of ITV's NHS' 70th anniversary celebrations, Alan Titchmarsh and the Love Your Garden Team get together for their biggest ever project: to create a create a garden for The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.

Alan Titchmarsh's makeover bandwagon arrives in Cardiff to create a pretty but practical garden for dedicated fundraiser Irene Hicks. In West London, Alan and his team meet Sybil, a widow who is struggling to keep on top of the garden she used to care for with the help of her husband, Harold. Alan creates an intimate peaceful space with a water feature, soft planting and parasol trees to create a quiet spot for reflection, while Bruce Kenneth builds a bespoke bench for Sybil to sit and remember her husband. Elsewhere, Danny Clarke visits the Barbican, where gardeners have transformed this urban landscape into a haven of greenery.

Alan Titchmarsh and his team are in Raunds, Northamptonshire, to overhaul firefighter Rebecca's garden, creating a space that can accommodate gym equipment, a play area and a vegetable patch. Meanwhile, Danny Clarke pays a visit to Easton Lodge in Essex where designer Harold Peto also created garden rooms to play in, relax and grow vegetables, but on a much bigger scale.

In Enfield, Hertfordshire, Alan Titchmarsh and his team transform a garden for Yvonne, a woman who has devoted her life to combatting knife crime after the death of her son who was tragically murdered when he was just 17-years-old. Alan's design is all about the garden becoming a healing space, where Yvonne can remember her son, and where the family can come together again. Elsewhere, Katie Rushworth learns just how healing nature can be at the Cascades Gardens in Derbyshire.

Alan and the team head to the town of Hinckley to surprise 96-year-old Second World War veteran Gordon with a stunning garden transformation. Alan sets about bringing a classic beautiful English country garden to this inaccessible space that includes raised beds in dry stone walls, a sociable seating area, a mini-orchard and an outdoor room.

Alan and the team transform a garden in the Oxfordshire town of Bicester for local community heroes Adam and Alice and their two children. With a holiday in Vietnam as inspiration, Alan's design takes the couple and their children on a journey around the Far East with exotic planting, new rockery, and modern water features to transport them to another place.
