1963, Platoon 318 is depicted in the Pilot and early episodes of Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. (Reference the 318 Guidon in the show)

Jim Neighbors (Gomer Pyle) himself stated that he did not enjoy watching the opening credits due to many of the Marines he trained with in those scenes were killed in the Vietnam war. The Pilot episode was filmed in 1963 but did not air on TV until 1964.   Semper Fi. Davis J.T.  Plt.1110, 1990.

Sounds like Gomer references the Mirage Hotel more than 20 years before it was built.
