Kensington General Hospital has a new assistant administrator. Ann Anderson discovers on her first day at the hospital that the chief of surgery is senile, the head obstetrician can't cope with women and that she is the target for the hospital's philandering doctor. When attractive Ann Anderson arrives to take up an administrative post, her very first day is a startling revelation of how a hospital can function - in spite of its medical staff! The chief surgeon is as absent-minded as they come; the obstetrician can't cope with women-but Charley, the playboy doctor, certainly can.

Anne must take a physical examination to qualify for the hospital pension plan and Dr Michaels volunteers for the job to prove that his personal feelings do not interfere with his professional judgment. When Charley's old high school teacher is admitted to the hospital he finds that one way and another, she can still teach him a thing or two...

The hospital needs a new wing, and it is Dr Michaels who tries to raise the money. Charley tries to play both ends against the middle when he lands up having two dinner dates with two jealous women on the same night in the same restaurant. Even for him it is a test of nerves and stamina.

Drs. Michaels and Solomon temporarily lose faith in their ability. Charley has a bad day in the operating theatre and as a result he loses confidence in himself as a surgeon. It wasn't too much fun for the patient either!

Amos uses a visit to the hospital by a famous doctor to gain much-needed publicity for the place. But the great man has a certain weakness of character which in Charley's biased opinion is definitely not healthy!

Ann, Charley and their co-workers are quarantined in the cafeteria after a 7year-old sprays them with a smallpox culture that he swiped from the lab.

Security at Kensington General is stepped up when a notorious gangster is admitted for surgery prior to appearing in court on a murder charge. A notorious criminal is admitted to the hospital for surgery and a nervous Charley is appointed to do the honours. There is a bit of preliminary cut and thrust between doctor and patient but it is definitely Charley who's balanced on a knife-edge, so to speak!

A new Chief Administrator arrives at Kensington General.The Staff at Kensington Hospital are shocked when the new administrator fires Amos on the grounds that he is too old to be a surgeon.

The staff at Kensington General are puzzled by the disappearance of supplies and equipment. Watch out! There's a thief about at the hospital. And that's not all - there's a phony doctor at work as well!

A taste of his own medicine. Dr Michaels finds himself confined to a hospital bed and proves to be the world's worst patient - proper Charlie in fact!

Charming, gentle Florence Alexander is Charley's idea of a perfect patient. And poor old Amos is treated with derision when he expresses doubts about her. What was that about he who laughs last?

Dr Weatherby proudly presents his granddaughter Susan as the latest member of his family to carry on the tradition in medicine. But Susan is something of a lethal weapon - the only thing she likes about working at the hospital is Charley!

Flanked by screaming fans, a teenage rock star is rushed to Kensington General after collapsing on stage. Life gets hectic for everyone in his orbit. When a pop star is admitted as a patient to the hospital, the invasion by his entourage - not to mention his fans- causes even more chaos than usual at Kensington General.

A famous baseball star has had a medical problem in his past which could prevent him presiding as chairman of a youth group committee. Dr. Michaels is prepared to go to jail to preserve the man's privacy. 

A beautiful, intelligent woman (Juanin Clay) is a candidate for the hospital's medical staff—and Charley's attention. 

Ann has her hands full with an amorous auditor and a mugger is loose in the hospital.

Ann defends a nurse who is about to be fired for posing nude for a men's magazine.

The staff puts on a show to entertain the patients on Christmas Eve.

An old friend of Charley's, known for his practical jokes, flies in from New York and insists that he needs a high-risk operation. 

Ann's apartment building is being converted to a condominium and Charley is one of the owners.

Charley has to manage the emergency room on the same night as his date with Ann.

When the nurses and orderlies go on strike, the doctors have to do everyone's job.

The hospital receives a bomb threat, and there's precious little time to locate the device. 

Only Anne is suspicious when a TV film crew arrives to record a "typical" day of activities at Kensington Hospital.

Peckler (Mark L. Taylor) tries to institute rigid emergency-room procedures after the doctors perform a tricky operation without a consent form. 

 Dr. Michaels and Ann Anderson smuggle a wanted man into the hospital to visit his ill father. 

A cocky new doctor (Dack Rambo) is looking for the fast track to success at the hospital and with Ann, who is upset that her ex-husband is remarrying.

A government spy sneaks into Kensington to try to get information from a patient in a coma.

When it appears that Dr. Weatherby is dying, three of his relatives show up to try to claim the inheritance, all of whom look just like him.

Charley finds that uspects abound when the hospital suffers a rash of thefts.

With Charley repeatedly breaking their dates, Ann decides to try making him jealous.

A crazy man with a gun holds Peckler and Ann hostage.

A getaway to Peckler's mountain cabin leaves Charley, Ann, Norman and Amos trapped by a forest fire.

Charley proposes to Ann and she accepts, but then begins to have second thoughts.

Fed up with trying to obtain it legally, Amos starts to grow his own marijuana for his patients.

Ann's womanizing uncle comes for a visit and charms the staff with his yarns.

Charley gets in trouble when he refuses to reveal the name of a pregnant teenager.

Ann tries to help nurse Bradley with her teenage son's problems at school.

Amos tricks Ann into letting him stay with her while his house is being painted.

Fed up with the never-ending hospital grind that caused his girlfriend to leave him, Norman considers leaving medicine to become a song writer.

Fearing a hospital inspector, Peckler puts all the doctors on night shift in the emergency room.

Charley is heartbroken to learn that Ann is going back to England, and a patient refuses a life saving operation.

Charley is shocked to discover that Ann's replacement is one of his old girlfriends.

Peckler (Mark L Taylor) wants to fire a new doctor (Dennis Howard) when it's rumored that he's gay. The new doctor was brought into the hospital to head up a drug rehabilitation program.

Charley begins to doubt himself after a patient rejects his advice and hires a bunch of specialists.

When Mrs. Phipps is tricked by a patient who is a con artist, Norman comes to her rescue.

After Norman puts the hospital chef on a very strict diet, the man suffers a heart attack.

Charley tries to prove that a doctor is performing unnecessary surgeries.

While they are at a medical convention In Las Vegas, Charley and Jane get connecting rooms, but don't want Norman to know.

Charley thinks that Amos's young girlfriend is just a gold-digger out for his money.

Charley tries to convince a senator to have an operation that will cure his mood swings.
