The series has been renewed for an eighth season, following its recent record-setting season seven premiere. The premiere on Friday, May 16 scored two million cross-platform viewers and became the most streamed premiere in series history, shattering streaming viewership record.

The fourth season, which just aired its finale last night, is averaging 4.2 million weekly viewers and is on pace to become the most-streamed Showtime series ever.

SHOWTIME has picked up the hit drama series THE CHI for a third season. Created and executive produced by Emmy winner Lena Waithe (Boomerang, Master of None) and executive produced by Academy Award, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Common (Selma).
