Al McGlashan's Fish'n with Mates - Episode Guide

After the Gulf of Mexico was wiped out by the worst environmental disaster in US history, Al McGlashan travels to the deep south to explore fishing off Louisiana. Al is out of his depth when he challenges USA's favourite fisherwoman Moe Newman.

Al travels to one of the most isolated spots on earth Ascension Island, on a quest to chase the world's largest Yellowfin Tuna. Al touches down in an Air Force jumbo with 3 mates and soon discovers why the fishing is out of this world.

Al McGlashan fishes with former NASA astronaut Jon McBride, fishing off Florida's space coast. However, their mission is compromised when they encounter Florida's wet'n'wild weather. Al then heads south for some hot Snook fishing.

Al McGlashan gets lost in the stunning maze of mangrove islands known as the Everglades. Teaming up with Captain Steve Trejera, they explore this exotic marine paradise where Steve tries his best to teach this Aussie a few local tricks.

Encountering some of the world's biggest Yellowfin in the Atlantic's Jurassic Park, Al teams up with the local scientists on a mission to tag and release as many tuna as possible – but ends up swimming with some sea monsters.

Having heard about the American Bass fishing circuit, Al takes on fellow Aussie and Bass pro Carl Jocumsen to see what it takes to fish Bass competitively on Florida's famous Lake Toho. Let's just say the results are revealing!

Al teams up with cricket legend Matthew Hayden for a fishing challenge like no other, flying into remote creeks in Australia's Northern Territory – avoiding crocodiles and wild buffalo to chase the infamous barra!

This week Fish'n with Mates meets Gilligan's Island when Al finds himself on a pirate ship adventure off the coast of Indonesia. Teaming up with Mark Dunphy from Shimano, Al takes on one of the meanest fighting fish on the planet – the mighty GT (Giant Trevally).

This week it's the battle of TV's fishing hosts, as Al takes on American fishing legend Carter Andrews. Al is confident that having the home ground advantage of fishing Sydney Harbour is the key to bringing down Team USA, however this doesn't quite go to plan.

After an upset in Sydney Harbour, Al takes his Yankee buddy bass fishing on the Hawkesbury River. Legend American fishing presenter Carter Andrews grew up fishing for bass in Tennessee. However, this is Aussie bass – and Aussie Al is determined to claim a victory.

This week Al heads deep into the jungle of Papua New Guinea to take on the toughest freshwater fish in the world. PNG Black Bass live in remote jungle river systems and have a reputation for bringing even the most seasoned anglers to their knees. Al's luck is in doubt after a run-in with the village chief!

This week Al continues his jungle fishing adventure in the Gulf Province of Papua New Guinea. Teaming up with local guide Moli Hidaka, Al is determined to impart his extraordinary depth of fishing knowledge and fly the fisherman flag for Australia – the results speak for themselves!

NT has some of the best fishing spots in Australia and Al is keen to knock over the very best of Offshore and Inshore fishing. Al goes after the majestic sailfish off Bathurst Island, before travelling to Daly River to take on the Top End's number one fish. Darwin Hilton's head chef Akash serves up a treat with Al's freshly caught barra.

This week Al travels to the most southern tip of Indonesia to take on the most aggressive fish of them all – Dogtooth tuna. Rote Island is a sleepy little fishing and surfing village, but it boasts one of the most exciting fisheries for doggies on the planet. Al's rod explodes during a dogfight and they have to hand reel in the biggest fish of them all!

Al McGlashan runs into rapid trouble in banjo country where the terrain is relentless and bass fishing out of canoes is considered to be a contact sport. The Nymbodia River is one of the last untamed rivers in NSW its wild and beautiful but catching fish is no easy task, especially when Al takes on the local guru!

This week Al McGlashan fends off a shark feeding frenzy to go head to head in a fishing competition against Team Mackerel Islands in The far north of Western Australia. Tucked away in the Pilbra region Thevenard Island is a fisherman's paradise with everything from GTs to tuna and mackerel, heaps of mackerel.

This week it's all about marlin. Al rallies the entire fishing community behind one very special lady who's had a rough trot. Then he throws her in the deep end with hooking up to her biggest dream – a marlin!

This week Al McGlashan returns to Western Australia's Pilbara Region to take on the majestic Spanish mackerel. Teaming up with the boys from the Compleat Angler they search far and wide battling sharks for the biggest mackerel.

Al McGlashan explores the hidden fishing treasures in the Gold Coast canals as he challenges a Salsa Sunglass queen to a Fish Off. Searching for big Aussie Bass Al discovers hidden talents no one ever imagined possible for the ultimate dance off!

Its Oldies vs the Pokémon generation as Al and mate Paul Nagy challenge the kids to a fish off in Sydney. Things start well for the geriatrics but quickly change as the kids catch kingfish and mulloway. With the loser having to jump into freezing water the oldies are keen to win!

This week Al McGlashan is on a covert operation as he travels to the Top End of Australia to hunt down the Million Dollar Fish. Explore the beautiful Kakadu Nation Park dodging crocodiles and sharks just for the show at a fish of a lifetime!

Al kicks off series four heading to the remote Tiwi Islands in the Northern Territory to take on Aussie cricket legend Matthew Hayden. Al may have no idea about cricket but when it comes to sledging fishing style these two take things to a new level. Searching remote mangrove estuaries to the offshore reefs in search of the biggest fish the stakes are high with no chance to chicken out unless they lose!

Rockhampton in Central Queensland may have awesome fishing opportunities with the new net free zones, but as Al quickly discovers it's just as famous for being the beef capital of Australia. So, what better way to get Al to fit in with the locals than to ride a bull at the rodeo. Things don't quite go to plan and suddenly just catching a fish becomes a real mission for one wounded cowboy!

Cairns is the adventure capital of the north and as Al quickly discovers is home to some great fishing opportunities. Taking on local legend Jack Strickland the challenge is set from the offshore reefs chasing big GTs before hiking into a wild country stream chasing the infamous jungle perch. With amazing scenery, big fish and a few dangerous encounters thrown in, it's an adventure like no other.

Three plane rides bring Al and the team to one of the most remote parts of Papua New Guinea where no white has been before and it's all for one thing – the infamous PNG Black Bass. Reputed as being the hardest fighting freshwater fish on earth, Al takes up the challenge in one of the wildest places on earth.

Australia versus PNG round two. Last time it was PNG who took the title, with guru fishing guide Moli smashing Al. This time however, Al is all about winning and is determined to win at all costs, but when he claims a catfish the local decides it's time for the war canoes!

Al heads back to the remote Tiwi Islands with Michael Kasprowicz to check out the new local guiding program while learning the skilful art of sledging. The seas are calm and the fish are on fire making for some explosive action with triple hook ups causing bedlam on board.

Al takes on the fairer kind in the battle of the sexes and while he definitely lost on looks, his fishing skills certainly excelled. At least that's what he reckons as they explore the islands and flats that make up the new net free zone around Mackay.

Al McGlashan heads to Copeton Dam in Northern NSW in pursuit of one of the largest freshwater fish in the country. Al is joined by his old mate Curtis Parker and they go searching by boat and on foot in the magnificent New England Ranges, battling the conditions to catch a mighty Murray cod!

When Al McGlashan hears the Bluefin tuna have turned up just 20 miles off Sydney, the call of the ocean is too strong. He drops everything, grabs his mate Jim Pennie and they race out on a mission to catch Jim his first big Bluefin. They also do their bit for science tagging and releasing, but of course Al can't resist and ends up diving in with these jumbo fish.

This week Al McGlashan goes chasing Flathead in the St Georges Basin and catches one for the record books… the smallest fish ever! Teaming up with the best dressed local fishing guru Dave Bakker, the competition is set, and the loser will have to take the plunge into the freezing water.

Family rivalry at its best, Al McGlashan vs his fishing mad son Cooper in a battle for the Kingfish title right in front of the iconic Sydney Harbour. It's more than family pride at stake – they are on a mission to tag a big one. It is a race against time to help researchers unlock the secrets of the ocean and there is a whole lot of ribbing along the way!

Al McGlashan heads to the beautiful Snowy Mountains to take on his old mate Tom, the freshwater king. They chase trout across the picturesque Lake Eucumbene, check out an eco-hut and head up the river to settle the score once and for all.

Al McGlashan heads to country Victoria to take on his brother Stew. They kick off on the picturesque Lake Eildon before changing things up and heading to the saltwater in search of the best eating fish in the sea. It's not all brotherly love and the loser has to do the farm chores, including bathing Barney the bull!

This week is all about giving back and fishing for science. Al heads west to Perth to join a group of citizen scientists chasing Pink Snapper all in the name of research. They witness the amazing spiral vortex of spawning snapper and encounter some unwelcome visitors as well!
