Gudrun: The Viking Princess - Episode Guide

As the snow melts and the seasons turn, the creatures of the forest are on the move. And when a raven flies in from the sea, it must have been released from the king's ship, mustn't it? Thrilled at the prospect of seeing her father, Gudrun races through the woods and comes face to face with a wolf!

While King Sigurd dozes on the beach, Gudrun tries to play a trick on him. But every time she gets close, he opens his eyes. How did he know she was there? It's only when watching an otter sniff the breeze that Gudrun realises the smell of smoke from the longhouse fire has lingered on her cloak

Playing in a clearing in the forest, Gudrun wheels around a tree trunk, startling a wild pony. It bolts into the thicket but it's not long before they run into each other again, only this time cornered in a hollow on the hill. Luckily help is at hand and the Viking Princess learns how to approach a wild pony.

When a raven gets trapped in a basket, Gudrun comes to the rescue. But can she trust the raven to help her when she loses her precious circlet made of Viking silver?

Gudrun and her friend Olaf find a crab and decide to build him a sandcastle. They don't realise how difficult it is for him to hide where there's no water. The moment they turn their backs, he is spotted by a keen-eyed, hungry gull. Gudrun and Olaf to the rescue!

Gudrun is learning to tie knots when King Sigurd asks her to tether a young goat. Disaster strikes when the goat escapes. Gudrun searches high and low, but where would a little billy goat have run to and why?

While everyone in the village helps clear the latest fall of snow, King Sigurd sends Gudrun off to look for signs of spring. Not very far down the mountain it's like a different world; the snow has gone, a swan is nesting and extraordinary little birds are burrowing in the riverbanks.

Gudrun and her friend Frida are playing hide-and-seek. But why is Frida so hard to find and how does she manage to spot Gudrun in a flash? When they stumble upon a roe deer hiding her kid in the long grass, Gudrun realises what she needs to do to disappear in among the trees.

Gudrun and her friends are out with the King's bowman, when Gudrun spots a huge bird swooping over the water. They follow it up through the forest to the highest heights where the King's bowman shows them how to build a nest like an osprey!

Gudrun has been learning to navigate with a sun compass, but it's evening and they have to go home through the forest. The night-time noises worry Gudrun, until King Sigurd teaches her how listening for the call of the eagle owl will guide them safely home.

Gudrun and Frida are taking a message to King Sigurd in the woods when they wander into the land of the pine martens. Seeing how quietly they move, Gudrun and her friend decide to sneak up on the king. But is it wise to sneak up on a Viking warrior?

A mouse has got into the grain store but when the cook decides to send in the cat, Gudrun and Olaf race to the rescue. Can they really protect the grain store while being a friend to the wild?

With summer fast approaching Gudrun and Frida are struggling for inspiration for their May Day festival dance. King Sigurd has an idea - he takes them deep into the wilderness to see the strange dance of the capercaillie. But will it help them create a dance fit for the feast?
