I think the Nov 1959 Alfred Hitchcock Presents version "Special Delivery" was the better adaptation of this story.
I wish I knew what the film location of that tower was.
Might just be because I saw it first, but I think I liked the 50's version in "Alfred Hitchock Presents" (Season 1) better than this adaptation.
