I definitely enjoyed this episode, because it was the closest V.E.N.O.M. ever came to defeating M.A.S.K.
It also shows how important a role the masks themselves play in the M.A.S.K. agents' lives, since they protect their civilian identities on top of being weapons.
This was something the second season of the cartoon AND both the U.S. and UK comics all threw away and made it so everyone on both teams knew one another's secret identities.

Mr. Swenson, the old man who lives at Clear Lake, is clearly a secret keeper for M.A.S.K. after having seen Matt decked out in his Rhino uniform.

After Scott and T-Bob were seemingly crushed to death, Matt kept a really cool head when he confronted Mayhem and told him, "I'm going to personally see that you spend the rest of your life behind bars!"
After V.E.N.O.M. escape shortly after, Matt says Mayhem will pay for what happened to Scott, but his tone of voice doesn't show someone who seems overly revenge-driven, considering that event is pretty fresh in his mind. Heck, Matt doesn't even give chase to V.E.N.O.M. after they escape.
These just don't seem like the actions of a man with Batman-esque revenge. Hell, maybe Matt Trakker can cope better then fellow billionaire Bruce Wayne?
