Mia Corvere begins her journey down the dark path of revenge as she seeks retribution from one of the men responsible for the death of her father. Knowing she could very well die, she seeks comfort from an unlikely source.

Upon arriving at the backwater pub where Mercurio advised Mia to present her tithe, Mia finds a dead end, until a handsome stranger also in search of the Red Church, enters and the two strike an unlikely alliance.

Mia and Tric venture into the Whisperwastes in search of the Red Church when they are attacked by a mysterious woman who may hold the answer they've been looking for.
