Walking Wartime Britain - Episode Guide

Former Royal Marine Arthur Williams discovers the people and places that changed the course of the Second World War. He begins in Liverpool, Britain's most important wartime port, which landed vital food and armaments from the Atlantic convoys.

Former Royal Marine Arthur Williams travels to South Devon to learn about the various wartime visitors that wound up in the region, including thousands of London's evacuee children, Belgians who fled from the Nazis, and students who were being trained for war.

Arthur Williams explores London, starting out at St Paul's Cathedral, which became the iconic symbol of the blitz. At Soho's Cafe de Paris, he learns how the blackout affected the capital's nightlife, and visits London Zoo, to find out how the animals coped during the bombing.
