Walking Victorian Britain - Episode Guide

During the Victorian age, Birmingham became known as "the city of a thousand  trades". Through developments in transport and great institutions an influential modern city was born.

Dr Onyeka Nubia explores Liverpool, which was once the most important port in the Victorian world as it connected Victorian Britain to the Empire and the world beyond.

While in Nottingham, Dr Onyeka visits Nottinghamshire County jail, where he discovers extreme forms of punishment, and he explores the lace industry.

As Dr Onyeka travels through Edinburgh, he explores the city's Old Town, including the first medical school in the country; the city's conditions are explored.
