Master Crafters: The Next Generation - Episode Guide

Jim Moir, aka Vic Reeves, hosts the programme in which amateur craftspeople explore the history and importance of six key disciplines, with guidance from experts in each field. In the opening edition, Sarah Goss challenges them to create a carving inspired by William Morris and the arts and crafts movement.

Under the watchful eye of tutor Derek Hunt, the students forge a stained glass panel that must include a special symbol.

Rezia Wahid sets an intricate task asking our craftspeople to use different types of weaving in as they weave material of their choice.

Equipped with craft and guile, the time is now for the students to impress as the Prince awaits their graduation piece.

Stained glass guru John Reyntiens - who has worked on Windsor Castle and Big Ben - takes the junior crafters under his wing.

The junior crafters learn to carve with sculptor Clunie Fretton, and get a wheelwrighting lesson from expert Mike Rowland. 

With the help of experts Ndidi Ekubia MBE and Thomas Lyte, the junior crafters are guided through a plethora of silversmithing techniques. 

The junior crafters look to the countryside for inspiration and unveil their final pieces at King Charles' Highgrove House 

The comedian returns with the programme celebrating traditional crafts, beginning with blacksmith Ian Thackray giving juniors Bran, Brad and Georgia a masterclass. Bill also visits Ironbridge in Shropshire.

Simon Smith gives a stone-carving masterclass to three novices, while Bill visits Salisbury Cathedral, home to Britain's tallest stone spire

In the third Masterclass, three junior mosaic enthusiasts take part in a workshop hosted by mosaic royalty Paul Siggins, while Bill visits the iconic St Paul's Cathedral in London for its distinct mosaics, in which you can see the look of the cathedral evolve from the original designs by Sir Christopher Wren, austere and restrained, to the Victorians who injected a bit of sparkle to the domes!

Nick Hands and Ellen Bills lead three novices through the art of letterpress printing, while Bill finds out about a feud that erupted between two leaders of the private letterpress world at the turn of the 20th century.

The comedian speaks to the next generation of young musicians and explores what is required to maintain musical instruments in the UK.
