Returning to Bari, her hometown, the deputy commissioner Lolita Lobosco deals with a case where the accused is a dentist with no criminal record and her first great love, accused of sexual abuse against his assistant. Lolita Lobosco investigates the murder of a beautiful woman who has been missing from home for over a week: Bianca Empoli. The woman is an established musician who, unbeknownst to her husband, Vito Loconsole, has rented an apartment to study and prepare for her solo concerts. And that's where her body was found by the neighbors. So Lolita finds herself digging into the life of Bianca, her age, and confronting the woman's unusual choices. Her death appears to her as the bitter epilogue of a life so rewarded by success as marked by loneliness. And the discovery of the truth will be even more bitter for our beautiful policewoman.

Deputy Commissioner Lolita Lobosco, summoned early in the morning by the shouts of passers-by, rushes to the restaurant near her home where they serve the renowned "Spaghetti all'Assassina" and where she finds the body of the cook, Geppino Schirone, known as Pap'russ. It's a murder case that seems to have no culprits, but which slowly highlights a bad story that revolves around the death of the man who turns out to be a completely different character than he appeared, full of shadows and ambiguities

The day after a class reunion Lolita is awakened by the news of the death of Vittorio, her former classmate. It seems to be a suicide, but this version does not satisfy Lolita's investigative acumen, who decides to further investigate the case, which is already destined to be closed. With determination and stubbornness Lolita thus manages to shed light not only on the mysterious end of Vittorio but on a wider and more complex scenario, where money, corruption and death are the masters. And above all, she will be able to clarify her feelings and discover an unexpected truth about her father.

The departure of Lolita and Danilo for a dream holiday in Egypt is postponed due to the news of a tragic accident that happened at sea: two young boyfriends died during a diving excursion. Already from the first investigations Lolita realizes that something does not return in the dynamics of misfortune but still does not know that, to reach the truth about what happened, she will have to put her own life at risk.

Lolita investigates a case that concerns her very closely: a writer was found dead in the B&B run by Nunzia and Carmela. It seems to have been a botulinum poisoning caused by one of Nunzia's gastronomic specialties: Aunt Dolò's scammaro.

This time Lolita finds herself having to investigate an unusual and tragic death at the same time: the teacher of an exclusive high school in Bari was killed at the wedding banquet of one of her colleagues. But when the case seems solved, it is the disappearance of a boy from that high school to open a new, chilling investigative hypothesis to the vicequestore.

The troubles for Lolita never end: while Danilo is away for work, the young Domenico has been arrested for theft and a priest has been killed right in front of the altar. After asking for help from Angelo, who runs a shipyard, to insert Domenico into a program of socially useful work, Lolita begins to investigate some conflicts in the management of the parish funds that will lead her to an unexpected discovery.

A very bad story that Lolita has to face when she wakes up: a young woman, soon identified as one of the dancers of a nightclub, was tortured and killed on the outskirts of Bari. Lolita, thanks to the prodigious memory of Forte, manages to trace an old murder that has characteristics similar to the current one and discovers with surprise that, at the time, it was her friend Marietta who led the investigation as PM, but without being able to give a face to the ferocious murderer.
