After a spontaneous abort and being abandoned by her family, a woman tries to kill herself at the sea. She is saved by a rebellious teenager and they get carried away, leading to the beginning of a downward spiral.

Inés contacts Hugo and warns him of her desire to see him again. However, coming back home he finds an unpleasant surprise: Inés is her father's new girlfriend. This situation makes Hugo not understand anything.

Inés prepares for an important step in her life: her wedding. However, memories come back to her mind. Hugo can't stand the pain of seeing the woman he loves with his father.

Inés becomes insane at the thought that her daughter is alone with Hugo at her house. Seeing Inés' strange behavior, her husband follows her to the sanatorium, where he discovers a very painful truth.

After the release of the controversial images, Mauro Riobó, Hugo's brother, finds himself in the center of controversy. Inés' thoughts always shift to the past, but her relationship with Hugo continues.

After Mauro discovers his brother's relationship with Inés, a serious confrontation between them happens, resulting in his death. Meanwhile, Ainara wants to see Hugo again, but her mother won't allow it.

Anguished by the recent events and wishing to get free of Inés' pressure, Hugo gets closer to Ainara to the point of starting a secret relationship with her. However, Inés gets suspicious and begins to fear losing Hugo.

Unable to handle their relationship anymore, Hugo decides to run away with Ainara in order to get away from Inés once and for all. However, Inés discovers their plans.
