Iris Broman is the new manager of the Kalla Fall group in Malmö. She has just broken up from her old life in Stockholm and moved into her half-sister's house by the sea in Ystad. On the same day that Iris starts her new job, a skull is found in the forest.

The cold case investigation into Benjamin's disappearance continues. Iris and Jens succeed in uncovering new leads despite Kerstin's reluctance to continue working on the case. Iris dreams of her dead husband and can't help but update herself on how the murder investigation is going.

Iris gets angry that Katti's problems spill over to her. At work, the collaboration with Kerstin sizzles, but Iris refuses to let go of the Benjamin case. A medium contacts the police and claims that there is a valuable clue at the discovery site.

Iris is in Stockholm to identify a suspect for Christian's murder. Her former colleague Adam gets into trouble when Iris goes too far and gets involved in the investigation. The Benjamin case is packed up and placed once more on the shelf.

Iris comes back to Malmö and resumes the investigation about Benjamin. Iris gets into a fight with Kattis and checks into a hotel to be alone, but the memories of Christian torment her. A tattoo forms a hot trail that leads on to Denmark.

End of season. Iris can't let go of the Benjamin case and all of a sudden several pieces fall into place. Can the case be solved after all, after all these years? Kattis makes Iris realize the truth about Christian and the sisters reevaluate their relationship.

Iris has found her feet as the head of the Cold Case group when a body is found buried outside Ystad. At the same time, a documentary film is being made about a similar case. Could the two be connected? Iris receives a message that has unexpected consequences.

Iris is threatened with suspension. A new boss is to be appointed and Kerstin feels ready to take over. When the documentary about Thorbjörn's disappearance is shown, it creates a stir for the Kalla fall group, as it ends with a startling promise.

Iris finally gets hold of Adam in Spain. Van Voorst is arrested, but the only person he wants to talk to is Iris. Jens feels pressured in his role as boss. During a memorial service at the manor, dark secrets are revealed and the dinner ends in disaster.

Sara has disappeared without a trace and an intensive search is underway. At the same time, the group investigates the two cold cases and becomes more and more convinced that they are connected. Iris is invited to dinner at Kerstin's and gets an unpleasant surprise.

Sara is found lifeless and taken to the emergency room, causing her mother to react in an unexpected way. An interview with Sara reveals new revelations about the family. At the same time, the group receives evidence that points to Thorbjörn's voluntary disappearance.

The new find in the forest is the beginning of the end. The Cold Case team gets answers to several of their questions and becomes increasingly convinced that they will succeed in solving the cases. Iris meets Van Voorst in the courtroom and hopes to see him convicted of her husband's murder.
