Sasha is the top graduate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy. He finds out that his father, whom he believed to be a fallen hero, is living and serving in Yugodonsk. When he goes to see him, Sasha realizes that his father is not at all the ideal police officer he had imagined. Then he decides to stay and turn him into a real hero.

Sasha and Maloy set off on their first joint case — a theft of computers from the school. They quickly manage to apprehend the suspect; a happy Maloy wants to close the case, but Sasha is sure that someone else is to blame. Ilyukha accidentally sells a real gun online, and now he and his brother have to find a buyer and get the weapon back.

Maly and Sasha are working on a case involving the theft of a large sum of money and agree that they will only use legal methods, which will be a huge problem for Maly. Ilyukha is offended by Sasha and decides to play a cruel prank on him; the entire department, and even his own brother Anton, will side with the newcomer. But that won't stop Ilyukha.

Sasha is looking for ways to improve his relationship with his father, but they have no common interests; Lisa advises him to invent some. Meanwhile, Maloy invests all his money in a fixed match involving his favorite team, but the striker is kidnapped, and the match is in danger of being cancelled. Borya likes Alice, but he's afraid to show his feelings. Alice is going to use a trick to push the indecisive Borya into taking action.

The city mayor's car is stolen. Sasha and Maloy are arguing about who will be the first to find the car. Maloy is ready to do anything to not lose to his son, but Boris will suffer the most from this. Meanwhile, Liza suspects that her father — the former "watcher" over the city — is involved in the theft.

Angela gives Maloy a chance and agrees to a date, but during the walk, the woman's wallet is stolen; instead of "romance," the two of them end up following the trail. Ilyukha asks Sasha to take his tests for him. Sasha deliberately fails them, which leads to a fight between them. To reconcile the guys, Gorynych sends them together to deal with a psycho who's running around the city with an axe.

Local television is filming a report about Maly, who caught a dangerous criminal 10 years ago. The film crew spends a working day with Maly and Sasha, filming everything on camera. Maly enjoys basking in the glow of fame, while Sasha is furious that he has to take part in this spectacle. Lisa is jealous of her father's new girlfriend and is ready to ruin their relationship by any means.

Sasha is getting ready for his long‑awaited date with Lisa — he bought a jacket and booked a table at the best restaurant. Maloy, on the other hand, wants to prove to his son that girls only like bad boys. But Lisa has reunited with her ex and doesn't know how to tell Sasha that their date will be a friendly one. Borya is tired of hiding his relationship with Alice from his colleagues, but she is категорически against making it public. So Borya decides to "accidentally" reveal their secret.

Angela's restaurant has a power outage, but Maloy is busy looking for black real estate agents and sends Ilyukha and Antokha to help. To impress the girls, the brothers throw a party at the restaurant. Sasha can't focus on work — he found out that Lisa has gotten back together with her ex. A major from the main department, Svetlana Gennadyevna, appears in the city, and Maloy immediately takes a dislike to her.

Poachers have appeared in the city. Maloy is late for the morning meeting, and as punishment, Gorynych appoints Sasha as the person in charge of the case — now the father is obliged to obey his son. During the patrol, Ilyukha distracts Antokha, and he scratches an expensive car, which turns out to be a company vehicle — the driver is an FSB officer. Liza notices that instead of paying her compliments, Robert is trying to change her appearance.

Svetlana Gennadyevna suggests that Maloy engage in illegal schemes; after receiving a refusal, she decides to put pressure through Angela. Lisa finds out that Robert wants to propose to her, but she isn't ready for it; she gets drunk with a friend and wakes up at Sasha's, discovering that her ring is missing. Now they need to reconstruct the events of the night.

Due to overexertion, Malaya faints during the mission. Sasha, worried about her father, asks him to slow down, but Malaya throws himself into the crypto‑farmers' case with redoubled effort. Ilyukha steals Gorynych's car to "find" it and get a promotion, but because of the brothers' carelessness, the boss's car is actually stolen.

The young man is given two interns who are nothing like the proper Sasha — he's happy about it, until a real crime happens. Gorynych asks Sasha to improve the clearance rate for Ilyukha and Antokha: they get the case of a cultivator theft, and during the investigation, Sasha realizes he was very wrong about the brothers.

Sasha's mother comes to Yugodonsk to bring her son back to Moscow, but she is robbed at the station. Maloy and Sasha get to work — the father is using illegal methods to the fullest, and Sasha is seriously considering going back home. Gorynych leaves Borya in charge, and he realizes that he doesn't have any authority among his colleagues.

Svetlana Gennadyevna secures Gorynych's dismissal and gains official authority over Maly. She sends Sasha to arrest the Watcher on a fabricated charge. Maly, out of a sense of justice, helps the innocent Watcher escape and becomes an accomplice himself. Liza and Robert come to the Watcher to inform him about the wedding.

Maloy is on the run, and crime is on the rise in the city. For Sasha, catching his father is a personal matter: he finds him and the Watcher in Angela's apartment, but Maloy doesn't give up and tries to prove to his son that Svetlana Gennadyevna set him up.
