Sergei Gudov has everything he needs for happiness: a housewife, a beautiful daughter, and a farm in a village near Moscow. All he lacks is an heir who would continue the family business. His привычный way of life is shattered when an orphan named Matvey appears on his doorstep, claiming to be the farmer's son.

Matvey secretly searches the house for the will, hoping to secure his rights to the farm. Getting hold of the documents turns out to be difficult: the head of the family is cautious and always keeps all important documents with him.

Sergey accidentally breaks the household vacuum cleaner. Realizing that the handy Vera will be furious about the damaged equipment, the farmer decides to take action ahead of time. To make amends and soften his wife's anger, he takes on landscaping and starts laying a new path in the yard.

The Gudov family goes on a traditional fishing trip, hoping for a quiet rest. Upon arriving at their usual spot by the water, the farmer is met with an unpleasant surprise: Semyon and Tanya have already taken the best location. The seizure of territory sparks an unspoken competition between the neighbors.

After discovering that Matvey has never in his life watched the films "Brother" and "Brother 2," Sergei sets about immediately enlightening the young man about culture. The head of the family decides not just to show his guest his favorite action movies, but also to clearly explain the deep meaning embedded in them.

Matvey is doing everything he can to spend as much time as possible with Olya. When her football team suddenly loses one of its members due to an unfortunate injury, the young man decides not to miss this good opportunity. He boldly volunteers to take the field as a substitute, hoping to impress the girl.

Tanya is getting ready to celebrate her birthday. She pointedly invites Matvey to the party, but deliberately leaves the older Gudovs uninvited. This selective hospitality becomes a source of resentment and forces the farmer to look for a way to respond to this bold challenge.

Matvey diligently avoids meeting with Tanya, while simultaneously trying to make sense of the unexpected revelations. The situation escalates when Olya begins to suspect the young man of being insincere and decides to get to the bottom of the truth. But other people's secrets may turn out to be too heavy a burden for the family.

Matvey decides to confess and tells Lysy about his feelings for Olya. Soon it turns out that the girl's wedding to Valya has been suddenly postponed. The влюблённый young man decides to take action: he sees this postponement as an ideal chance to completely ruin someone else's wedding.

During a secret meeting at a local hotel, Matvey accidentally spots Sergei in the company of an unknown woman. Keeping someone else's secret turns out to be difficult, as that same day, TV crew members arrive at the farm to film a report about a strong family, an exemplary marriage, and marital fidelity.

Tired of the constant tension, Matvey makes a firm decision to move to Moscow for good. At the same time, Vera falls victim to ingenious scammers and recklessly takes out a large loan secured by the family home.

Sergei takes on the challenging role of peacemaker and desperately tries to restore the relationship between his estranged daughter and her fiancé. Meanwhile, Matvey and his intrusive neighbor are trying to sort out their feelings and finally determine the status of their romantic relationship.

Semyon begins organizing the annual social reception for the local elite. The process is constantly under threat of falling apart, as Olya keeps finding new ways to disrupt the preparations. To save the festive evening, Matvey is assigned a difficult task: to distract the girl at any cost.

Matvey and Olya join forces to engage in sports and start going for morning runs on a regular basis. The unexpected closeness between the young people instantly triggers a surge of intense jealousy in Tanya. Meanwhile, Sergei finds himself alone with his wife for the first time in many years.

Wanting to reconcile Olya with her fiancé, Sergei Gudov comes up with a cunning plan and takes on the task of organizing a traditional bachelor party. Now the farmer faces a difficult task: he needs to find a reason to lure his daughter to an exclusively male event and get the stubborn couple to finally talk.

Olya refuses to believe Matvey's admission that they are not blood relatives. To prove the sincerity of his feelings and win the girl's favor, the young man is ready to go to any lengths. Meanwhile, the farmer's wife insists that her husband undergo the confession ritual before the upcoming wedding.
