Kristina Malakhova, an environmental expert, is in the process of divorcing her husband, Yakov, whom she suspects of infidelity. One day, Kristina arrives in the town of Drevlyansk to conduct an environmental assessment and gets into a conflict with a local developer. This story is captured on local television, and soon a stranger, Svetlana Kalinina, approaches Kristina. She claims that Kristina is her daughter, kidnapped thirty years ago! The heroine begins her own investigation. Her attempts to uncover her true past lead to a series of deaths.
