The 13 participants are thrown straight into fierce challenges as soon as they arrive at the Helgelandsmoen camp. On the very first day, the participants are pressured to leave their commands, and a cold front and icy conditions create problems for several.

Frank Løke returns to the barracks after a visit to the emergency room. The aspirants are subjected to a brutal gas drill before being sent out on a march alone with a map and compass.

The pressure increases, and without warning the aspirants are thrown into a chaotic first aid exercise with "injured" soldiers. The tasks throughout the day become more complex, and conflict arises in the group – especially between Løke and Myhrer.

The aspirants are brutally awakened in a tent before being thrown into close combat – face to face with professional fighters. Later, they must evaluate each other with brutal honesty, which creates a challenge to morale and division within the group.

After Meek retires, Charlotta struggles with motivation. The aspirants are put on duty through the night and have to deal with unpredictable situations under constant pressure. Lack of sleep and food eat away at their unity, and conflicts escalate.

The aspirants defy their fear of heights in a demanding rope climb and get a long-awaited feeling of accomplishment. When they finally get food and rest, several sense that something big is about to happen. And they are absolutely right. The night is anything but calm.

The inflatable boat festival has cost the aspiring contestants dearly, and they are at breaking point. During a medical check-up and an emotional letter-writing exercise, they are forced to realize why they are here – and what they risk losing.

The aspirants are held captive, blindfolded, subjected to sleep deprivation and psychological pressure. During brutal interrogations, their loyalty is tested as they are tempted with rewards in exchange for information.

The lack of sleep begins to take over, and even simple tasks become difficult. When the commandant reveals a breach of the barracks rules, the aspirants face consequences. They are then thrown into technical weapons training – which takes place underwater.

After Hedlund surrenders to the trenches, the remaining aspirants are pressed on through a night of cold, hallucinations, and constant attacks. Without rest, they are sent straight out on a relentless march up Høgvarde with heavy loads.
