Le Fils du cordonnier

Set in Brittany at the beginning of the 20th century, it follows the life of Pierre, the son of a poor shoemaker named Célestin. Due to extreme poverty, Pierre is sent away to be raised by nuns and later by harsh foster parents on a farm.
