The Ghost of Justice

Zong Yao, the vice minister of the Court of Judicial Review who is disguised as a man, solves numerous cases with intelligence. When her true identity is exposed and she is falsely accused of deceiving the emperor, she meets a tragic death. Surprisingly, her spirit does not dissipate. She wakes up floating by the bathtub of Lin Zhao—a talented scholar in the capital, the son of the prime minister, and a man of high status. She finds herself unable to move more than five steps away from him, while he is elated to see her—his secret crush for years—even as a ghost. She examines her past and realizes that her downfall is actually due to her investigation into the mutilation of a young girl in a brothel, which offended a hidden force. To help her clear her name, Lin, who has no interest in politics, enters officialdom. Together with her colleague Zhou Yin, they travel to Jin County in Yunnan to expose the Tiansheng Palace, which is using the guise of "holy maiden ascension" to commit crimes. During their investigation, Zong's spirit materializes, exposing a massive political conspiracy.
