Episodes airing after midnight, Part 2

I see that the thread that you started David you also closed thus I have this Thread which you may also close after we have finished this conversation I guess? Why was 4AM chosen as the cut-off for the next day as I have visited many, many TV sites over the last 15 years I see those that use that cut-off for next day airdates use 3AM?

Do they use 3AM sharp? We chose 4AM to ensure episodes airing at for example 3:15AM or 3:30AM still belong to the previous day.

YES all the sites I have visited have been using 3AM sharp for years. If a show say starts airing at 2:45 AM reguardless when it ends it goes on the previous days listing. Afy show beginning at 3AM or later goes on today.

OK, interesting. There was no particular reason to choose 4AM over 3AM, there doesn't appear to be any kind of standard for this matter so we just chose it arbitrarily. Do you perhaps know of any references of how other TV guides handle this; and why they chose for 3AM specifically?

No CLUE why they choose 3AM as far as references is concerned I don't understand what you mean give you a site that uses 3AM or something else. If you mean site the one that pops to my mind is tvrage.com is that what you ment?

I mean if any other site has perhaps written about this subject, explaining why they chose 3AM or any other specific cutoff time.

I will look around the Net and get back to you if I find anything on any TV site in writing but not sure how hard that might be for me to search that out. Can you please give me days or weeks to find one unless I get very lucky sir?

Of course, no rush. I think it doesn't really matter a lot whether we use 3AM or 4AM. There aren't a whole lot of shows that air between 3AM and 4AM that I can think of.

Me either so you might be 100% correct there!
