College Football games?

JAGUARDOG wrote 9 years ago: 1

I would like to start a conversation about College Football Games not BOWL Games. Is it a possibility that we can have College Football games added here to maze? First off let me point out that I added a lot of different College Bowl games last year here to the site but obviously they all had different names so there was not any problem getting them added. We currently have 6 shows all tilted "Premier Boxing Champions" all of which are on different Networks of course. Now if I were to be allowed to add College Football games we are talking about a huge number of shows all with the same titles but of course on different Networks. This list would be a very, very long list and here are just a few of the Networks that air games all with their own announcing teams no carry over from other networks or airing the same game on more than one Network at a time.

The 27 Major Networks include the following:

ABC

CBS

FOX

NBC

ACC Network

Altitude Sports & Entertainment Network

ASPiRE

AXS TV

Big Ten Network

BYU Television

Comcast Sports Net

COX Sports

Longhorn Network

Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN)

MSG Network

North American Sports Network

New England Sports Network (NESN)

Pac-12 Network

ROOT Sports

SEC Network

Sports Time Ohio

SportsNet New York

Sunshine Network

TBS / TNT

truTV

Time Warner Cable SportsNet

Yankees Entertainment Sports (YES)

NOTE: In case anyone wonders how I know all of these, I have all of these Networks on a very huge spreadsheet on my PC as I have been adding games to RAGE for over 10 years. I also have a separate spreadsheet listing of games themselves so no game is listed more than 1 time accidentally on more than 1 Network. It is a ton of work but I can try and keep up with it all over here as well. The only difference would be all the oddball Networks games could not be listed over here since we can only use 1 Network for each show. If you are not sure what I mean let me try and explain a little better?

FOX shows different games on over 50 regional Networks such as FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, FOX Sports Net, FOX Sports College Atlantic, FOX College Sports Central, FOX College Pacific, FOX Sports Florida, FOX Sports Detroit, FOX Sports Pittsburgh, etc., etc. etc.

ESPN shows different games on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN Classic, ESPN News & ESPN Deportes

I can't speak for the overall question you're asking, but I just wanted to clarify where you said "1 Network for each show." - It's actually 1 network for each season.

For example: if for season 1 of a show, most episodes aired on FOX Sports 1 you'd set it as that, but if most episodes of season 2 aired on FOX Sports 2 you'd set just that season as FOX Sports 2.

No sorry but you do not understand. For sports Maze wants the Seasons to be Years and not Seasons or Season numbers. Therefore if we began now it would be Season 2016 and not Season 1. However that is not my point at all so let me try and clear up what I mean. All the shows would have the same names "College Football" for example. So if you did a search and used "College Football" and it was found 27 times they would show the Network in question afterwords: Here is an example that may help you understand my point?

College Football (ABC, 2016)

College Football (ACC Network, 2016)

College Football (Altitude Sports & Entertainment Network, 2016)

College Football (AXS TV, 2016)

College Football (CBS, 2016)

College Football (FOX, 2016)

These are all in the same season which in my example is Season 2016 does this help you understand what I was really saying or is is still a little Muddy?

I do not want to decide this, let us wait till jan or david are around :)

In what kind of schedule does this air? How would the episode list for one of the entries look like?

I ask because we allow sports, but only if they air in a regular format:

Explicitly allowed are: Sports footage airing in a regular format and timeslot; such as WWE Friday Night Smackdown

Explicitly not allowed are: Sports footage airing irregularly; such as the FIFA World Cup or Tour de France

(from http://www.tvmaze.com/faq/13/shows).

@david

I think that one of the problems is that you can only see 10 different shows when you search. As they all have the name "College Football" and there's more than 10 of them, it would be impossible to search for all of them.

College Football games normally air on Saturdays with the earliest normally airing at 12 Noon and they air for 3 hours. Sometimes there are games on Thursday nights but not often and those normally only air on one of the ESPN Networks. A normal Saturday would look something like this:

99% of the games all air LIVE,

12Noon - 12 New never aired before and no repeat Games on 12 different Networks

3 PM - 12 New never aired before and no repeat Games on 12 different Networks

6 PM - 12 New never aired before and no repeat Games on 12 different Networks

Maybe not a great explanation but I will provide some games previously aired on 1 Network by copy & pasting them from TVRage from 2015 if that is okay? The ESPN Networks air the most games of any Networks all New and all Live.

These were copied from "ABC Saturday College Football" (TVRage ID #11226) which lists games on the following Networks: ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, ESPN Deportes, ESPN Game Plan, ESPNEWS & ESPNU

Episode #Air DateTitle 36710x0124/Apr/2015LSU Spring Game: LSU Tigers vs. LSU Tigers 36810x0227/Apr/2015Mississippi State Spring Game: Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs 36910x0303/Sep/2015Oklahoma State at Central Michigan 37010x0404/Sep/2015Charlotte at Georgia State 37110x0504/Sep/2015Michigan State at Western Michigan 37210x0605/Sep/2015Norfolk State at Rutgers 37310x0705/Sep/2015Richmond at Maryland 37410x0805/Sep/2015UTEP at Arkansas 37510x0905/Sep/2015Southern Illinois at Indiana 37610x1005/Sep/2015Coastal Carolina at Furman 37710x1105/Sep/2015Florida A&M at South Florida 37810x1205/Sep/2015Louisiana Lafayette at Kentucky 37910x1305/Sep/2015Georgia Southern at West Virginia 38010x1405/Sep/2015Missouri State at Memphis 38110x1505/Sep/2015Northern Arizona at Stephen F. Austin 38210x1605/Sep/2015Webber International at Stetson 38310x1705/Sep/2015Tennessee Tech at Houston 38410x1805/Sep/2015Texas State at Florida State 38510x1910/Sep/2015Southern at Mississippi Valley State University 38610x2011/Sep/2015Utah State at Utah

I hope this helps a little but it is a small selection only?

Since Maze will not paste things exactly as they are copied and therefore makes it look like a giant mess and very hard to see and read here is the URL to this show - http://www.tvrage.com/ABC_Saturday_Night_College_F...

ABC College Football College Football on ACC Network College Football on Altitude Sports & Entertainment Network College Football on ASPiRE College Football on AXS TV College Football on Big Ten Network College Football on BYU Television College Football on CBS College Football on Comcast SportsNet ESPN College Football Saturday ABC Saturday College Football ESPN College Football Thursday Primetime NCAA Football College Football on FOX College Football on JUCE TV College Football on Longhorn Network College Football on MASN CAA College Football Saturday College Football College Football on NBCSN College Football on NESN College Football on Pac-12 Network College Football on ROOT Sports College Football on SEC Network College Football on SportsNet New York

Once again another mess, copied & posted as a list going downward but the site puts it as a BIG MESS!

It's really hard to show and explain things when we can't have them show as they really appear which is frustrating!

Just wanted to throw another opinion in and point something out to David as well.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_Boxing_Champions

This states the whole of the competition is run by one production company, with multiple broadcasting partners.

We had the same issue with NCAA Basketball, which had numerous guides set up on the site, but because the presenters and production company are the same for every episode, we altered the guide into one "Syndicated" series like so; http://www.tvmaze.com/shows/14721/ncaa-basketball

Not sure if the same should be applied to both Premier Boxing Championship and any of the College Football shows we are discussing in this thread.

Multiple Broadcasting Partners TS so what? It is the Broadcast teams that are the deciding factor and NOT Multiple Broadcasting Partners from what the BIG Guy told me. So the answer is NO they should not be combined. Besides if they were to be combined you then lose all the different Networks that air the different games or in your example the Different Boxing matches.

There is no way having a lot of Boxing matches or Football Games show on the schedule ALL airing under the same Network provides any Value to any site. Even this value if you use Syndicated here since it only allows 1 Syndicated show to air in the same time slot! I don't want to get Rude about this but please use your head and think hard about what you are suggesting?

YES all the games airing on all of the many different ESPN Networks do use the same Broadcast teams but they do NOT use the same ones that any of the FOX Networks use or any of the NBC Networks use or any of the CBS Networks use and on and on and on kabish? Think!

My post was addressed to David. Somehow Ron your posts always come across as rude to me, doesn't matter who else replies, to me you always come across very defensive, and it's really unnecessary when that's not what I'm doing to you at all.

I know you were talking to David and I also wanted David to know ALL the facts not just 1 side of the story.

I'm very sorry you feel that way but did you even read everything I said as I also said this: " I don't want to get Rude about this but please use your head and think hard about what you are suggesting?"

Syndicated is an option to deal with this too, as is the option i have suggested, so let us wait for one of the two big guys (david or jan) to make a decision about this :)

cheers

Syndicated will NOT work here for 2 reasons:

1 It does not tell anyone what the real Network is that a game is really airing on, ESPN, FS1, MASN etc.

2. Based on the site's current philosophy of only allowing 1 Syndicated show to air in 1 time slot at a time...

A. It only allows 1 game to air in a timeslot and if 15 different new Live games are airing on 15 different Networks at the same time which happens more often than non- U.S. members might think that do not watch College Football or cannot receive those games.

B. If another show is airing in a timeslot like "Jeopardy", "Wheel of Fortune", "Steve Harvey", "Family Feud" etc. than no games could appear in that same time slot.

So with all that being said I have decided to just drop this subject & conversation altogether. If anyone who loves to watch College Football wants to know what Network a game is going to air on (real Network and not Syndicated) and the time they know where they can currently get the correct information from anyways!

Why do you drop this before the decision is made ?

Personal reasons not your fault. Besides I have decided it would be way too much work for me to try to keep this up to date on 2 sites after thinking about it for days I should have just never brought it up.
