Would it be possible to extend the ?embed=akas URL option to the search/shows?q=show endpoint? I'm not sure what kind of hit this would have on your db query, but at least it should be cachable.
Just to let you know, the search/show doesn't allow any embeds at all, however, embed=akas does work when searching for a single show

Yup. I know about the singlesearch endpoint allowing them. The problem with single search is not being able to hint the country and/or premier year to get more accurate results.
