It's all very well and good to search for all the shows in a genre. But if all we have is Most popular, alphabetical, and an added category we end up with the first few pages full of shows that have completed their season and no idea on what's on RIGHT NOW~ Surely it would not be too difficult to add a search category for Currently Airing shows, as in shows that have at least one or more episodes left in their season, or shows that have aired in the last seven days.

you can also select SHOW STATUS. If you choose Running, you will only get results for running shows :)

Yes, but that includes running shows in off-season, which are then sorted (default) by popularity. Often getting ones hopes up that GoT (for instance has restarted :)
Of course there is the calendar, and I could squash my monitor down to the last seven days, then select all--- wait for it... Popular shows. Not just all shows. ALL shows would make the calendar unwieldy and difficult to view (esp. with a squashed up monitor :)
BTW, the SHOW STATUS section is where I would expect to see a selectable segment Airing.
