I'm probably not understanding this but:

does not return anything on CBeebies Channel
One specific example:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/shows/mini-beast-adventure-with-jess being on at 12:00hrs on the 5th sept.
any ideas why?

The episode airing on CBeebies at that time is season 1 Episode 1.
Th entire first season has already aired previously, so will not show up as airing again on TVmaze. We only list the first airing of an episode, not re-runs.
We don't track repeats; that episode listed there is season 1 episode 1 and aired over 2 years ago.
Aside from that, TVMaze is user curated - users add all of the episodes / other information, request shows, etc. So if there's something you're aware of that is new but missing then you can add it yourself (or request it if you don't have the privileges)
