validating your browser

I use a password manager (1password) and first get this message whenever I try to log in via the manager (jumps straight to login). The same happens when I bookmark the login page and click it.

Validating your browser
If this error persists, make sure to enable javascript and cookies.

After the "validation" is complete I am sent to the front page where I STILL have to navigate to login to get in. Sort of annoying. Maybe make the login page take less bandwidth or something if it's a problem with ddos or something?

It's just enough of an annoyance and waste of time to get me to post this here.

No issues when I navigate to login via the front page. Is it assumed that one keeps their cookies forever after they log in? Every time I delete them I have to navigate to login via the front page.

Thanks for reporting!

The validation is an unfortunate necessity to protect against a variety of attacks. However, to accomodate your use case I'll look at automatically redirecting you to the page you came from when the validation is complete; that should make it a lot less annoying.

Hello,
I also using 1Password but for me everythings fine. But you should check one thing on the 1Password preferences. There's a Watchtower tab on the preferences pane. If it is enabled just uncheck the Enable 1Password Watchtower checkbox. Not sure but maybe this occured the problem. This service doing somethink like this what is your problem.

The cause isn't 1Password, but the combination of deleting cookies at the end of each browser session, with the way he's using 1Password: connecting straight to the login page.

If you don't delete your cookies or visit a regular page before hitting the login page, you shouldn't notice a thing.

Thanks.
If I remember to, I'll get a subscription next month for a bit just because of this :)

That would be great :)

I just implemented the changes I described. In my setup with a password manager and a cleared browser, there's a few second delay but after that I'm now automatically logged in. Let me know!
