Rachel1990 I downloaded the image you uploaded from Star Trek Voyager episode Living Witness, brightened the image and re-uploaded it. It is still the same image you originally uploaded.

I have had to do that with a couple of images that I have uploaded as well, brighten them before uploading. I just want to make sure that if someone see's my name in the edit log uploading a main image for a episode where they have already uploaded one, that they know I am not replacing their uploaded image with one of my choice. I need to post the link in the general chat to the Infranview photo editor that Kim Komando recommended years ago. It is a full featured free photo editor that works great.

To be honest, if all you're doing is brightening (and possibly changing contrast a little) then the original uploader probably won't even notice.

Although I have wondered myself if it's worth re-uploading some images in higher resolution.

It is always nice to have a better looking image tho :)

Yup, I just meant that they probably wouldn't have realised it was re-uploaded.

The image that I downloaded and re-uploaded was so dark, you could barely make out Chakotay's facial tatoo's. Will there be any issues about my putting the link to the infranview photo editor in a general message post? was planning on doing it later tonight after we arrive at our hotel in Chicago for tomorrows Bird Fair. I know with re-uploading a image, it would be nice if there was a way to send a brief line to the original uploader letting them know. Maybe someday. I think with a uploader of a image noticing a change, it would depend on how often they watch a show and if they check the edit log or not. I know sometimes I check the log because I will look at something and not remember if I did a edit/summary or if it was someone else. Sometimes I will look at a summary I wrote a while back and notice something that I could have worded a bit different and think to my self...how did I miss that, or what was I thinking of at the time. <chuckle>
