Please Differentiate Acquired Episodes in iCal Feed

heyted wrote 8 years ago: 1

Would it please be possible to change the transparency property in the iCal feed to transparent instead of opaque for episodes that have been marked as acquired? This is probably not a very popular suggestion, but since this is probably easy to implement and more closely matches the iCal specification, could this please be implemented without voting?

If acquired:

"TRANSP:TRANSPARENT"

else:

"TRANSP:OPAQUE"

I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm not sure that I agree here. Quoting the spec:

Events that consume actual time for the individual or resource associated with the calendar SHOULD be recorded as OPAQUE, allowing them to be detected by free/busy time searches. Other events, which do not take up the individual's (or resource's) time SHOULD be recorded as TRANSPARENT, making them invisible to free/busy time searches.

In our context, this doesn't apply. Whether an episode is acquired or not doesn't make any difference in "taking up the individual's (or resource's) time". Even if we'd want to include an episode's watch state in the iCal feed, one could argue just as well that TRANSPARENT should represent watched episodes, or skipped episodes instead.

FYI: You can retrieve all episode state (watched, acquired, skipped) with the user API: http://static.tvmaze.com/apidoc/
