My watchlist not displaying some shows, even though "following"

None of the shows on my watchlist is showing up. Also noticed there are no options to follow a show at present.

There's definitely an option to follow a show.

You either can do it via the tab shows and click on the small heart in the lower right part of the photo or click that specific show and there will be a button below the poster saying; Follow

I am not sure what you are trying to say with your first point, please enlighten me.

but you can filter your following shows by giving them tags. http://www.tvmaze.com/dashboard/tags

Are you sure there are episodes of Survivor that have aired but have not yet been marked as watched? You can verify this here: http://www.tvmaze.com/watch/show?show_id=114
