I've been working on bringing shows I track over to TVMaze and I'm curious about how specials are handled in the Watchlist. While marking my progress, I've noticed that specials do not appear to be indicated in the WatchList. The Doctor Who Christmas special or the Graham Norton New Years Eve special, for example, show as unwatched on my show page - but does not appear on my WatchList.
Is this known (or intended) behavior of the WatchList?

Specials are indeed not shown on the watch list, that's the intended behavior. By their nature, specials are really quite a mess - for some shows they are a mix of recap/clip episodes, webisodes and feature movies. It's very likely that someone can't / doesn't want to watch all specials for a show, so they're hidden from the watch list. You can indeed still mark them as watched via the show's episode list, or the episode page though.
