Incorrect display of number of appearances

I did not assign them to any episode they appear in yet, but you can see it says "1 apperances" next to their name. When I click on them, I don't see any episode listed which would count as 1 appearance. The other cast that was added before are the same, they are still not added under individual episodes, and as such don't show any number of appearances. So why do the new three show it? Is this a bug?

Until cast are added at episode level they automatically get one appearance for appearing on the show. Once they are added to one episode at either guest/starring level that's when the count starts working properly. I don't think it's a bug per se, just how the coding works for when a cast member is added.
