For me, the current way to always use the plural form is much preferred over the awkward "Minute(s)". Which is acknowledging the problem, but not caring about a proper solution. And yet, some of the biggest players in the software engineering field make that mistake all the time :)

@LouisWu I wouldn't consider it a mistake, just a preference.  While I would prefer an accurate singular / plural, I personally prefer something like minute(s) to minutes.  In my eyes the always plural ignores the mistake entirely and just hopes you ignore it when it's singular, while a solution like minute(s) explicitly lets you know that it could be singular or plural. 

 As david mentioned though, this should be at the top bottom of his list.
