The Strange Case of The New Adventures Of Lassie

The New Adventures Of Lassie has two seasons. It's hard to figure this out but I personally have all episodes so I'm certain this is the case.

Season 1 was released on Pop TV in the UK. It aired from 2014 to 2015 and features completely hand drawn animation.

Season 2 was released on CBS All Access but was labelled as Season 1. It aired in 2020 but the dates on all the episodes are 2016. This is computer animated.

These are clearly the same show, both made by Superprod from France. Both in English. Each of them features the same intro. If you watch it, you will see a lot of the same characters and animation style even though one is hand drawn and the other is CGI. But the dog looks the same.

The season from Pop TV was already on TV Maze so I added the season from CBS All Access as Season 2 and used the air dates that were listed with the episodes since I don't know the actual air dates even though I do know it was added to CBS All Access in 2020 and not 2016. I double checked titles and episode content so I know I have all the episodes correctly named.

Is this the correct way of handling this? It was pretty hard to figure out what was happening because Superprod doesn't even list out the episodes, just that they made the show. I found a lot of resources online but they all differ.

Also, TV Maze shows the country as France but it never actually aired there from what I can see. It aired in England and the US. Well, really on Youtube and CBS All Access. Wherever those servers are hosted. Should that be changed? And would it be PopTV or CBS All Access? England or US? Right now it says ZDF in France but I'm not sure where that info came from.

Why do I care so much? Well... you gotta love Lassie!

Adding season 2 was the right thing to do, it is the same show. :) The show is co produced between France, Germany and Ireland and it actually premiered on ZDF in Germany for both seasons. The only thing that needs to be changed now is the airdates of season 2, which I will do now :) Good work! :)
