Disappearing seasons

Cecile wrote 3 years ago: 1

Hello

I have notice that some future seasons created disappeared without a trace.

For instance, I have created season 4 for Snowpiercer yesterday and it's gone today : https://www.tvmaze.com/edit/view?id=14665766 but there is no delete log to match.

Any reason ?

Empty seasons are automatically cleaned up. This was done to prevent deleting episodes from leaving empty/useless entries on the season index.

What's the reason that you would explicitly want to add an empty season?

In order to keep current informations. Since season 4 has been commissioned, I thought it had to be added. Never mind, I'll wait until we have more information about it.

Thanks :)

Ha, just fell for that as well with a bunch of Star Trek shows.
Kind of problematic if you ask me - it might happen more often that a season has been confirmed without a year, than deleted episodes leaving orphaned seasons.

Auto-delete of a season together with the last episode being deleted instead?

I'm not sure to understand what you mean.

For what I understood of @david 's response, seasons are deleted only if totally empty, so a season with episode wouldn't be concerned

For a season after the currently running one, why would I do that.
We are missing a way to have seasons that have been announced but no further information is known.

No its not ill remove the placeholder names now, please let us know if you come across anymore.

Why? Once these seasons have been confirmed as ordered in a press release or otherwise officially announced, there is no reason to delete them.
They have the same status as any show that's in development.

@david has already given a really clear response above, I don't know what else you want as an answer.
