Phantom updates

I have noticed some phantom updates on shows, and I don't understand where they are coming from.

For example, if you are looking at the API datas for Brain in Gear, you'll see an update time for today. But if you look at its edit's log, you can't find anything.

Same for Ways & Means today, and so many shows pretty regularly.

Where do this update time come from ? Is there some informations missing in the edit's log ? Or is the update time messing with us ?

(don't worry, I don't spend my time comparing datas from the API for every shows, my system does it for me ^^)

it might be that an external id was added? and those do not show up in the edit logs

That's a plausible explanation indeed, updating externals triggers the updated timestamp. Another possible scenario for such a "phantom update" is the deletion of a person that was cast/crew in the show or its episodes.
