Columbo Season and Episode Numbering

hc98br wrote a year ago: 1

For some reason the seasons for Columbo (https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/466/columbo) have been numbered by release year.  There are several documented sources (incl IMDb, Wikipedia and https://columbophile.com/columbo-episode-list/) that list the episodes in formal seasons 0-10.

I would like to fix this,  but it says I should open the thread for major changes - so here I am :)

I'm also new to the site, so I don't want to mess anything up!

Thanks,
Ben

Thank you!  I think I'm getting there :)

That explains why it is as it is - I did search, but failed to find!

I have to say, it really doesn't seem like the right decision though - as far as I can tell this is the only source that lists Columbo like this, all other data sources present in seasons - I don't know how there were presented at broadcast, but looking the dates they appear to have been aired around once a month over the winter, creating a continuous season.

The premise for the change seems to have been that there are one off's in the later years - but that shouldn't negate the season numbers in the earlier years; and those later shows should just be specials - this doesn't feel like an unusual life of a show (n seasons concluded with x specials)

Just my two-cents :D
