Firstly you've been asked numerous times to use the relevant thread 'Edit Requests' for any requests like this in the future please make sure your posts are in the right place.
I did some digging and unless you have a official source or something along those lines this will be a minefield to unravel - itv didn't originally air it, a regional variation of itv called atv aired it. This was back when regional stations were a bigger thing in the UK and the regular feed would opt out for those programmes. Itv then aired the show across the various regions as well as nationally. Do we know if the 1976 dates reflect the ITV or ATV airing?
(Sorry, I thought Edit Requests was only for requesting a specific edit be made, rather than a general question.) The show was essentially syndicated rather than networked, in both the US and the UK. Our dates appear to be for the US airings in New York City. Whereas Wikipedia, for example, uses the ATV dates. Both sets of dates are presented in the list at the Muppet Wiki: https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_The_Muppet_Show_episodes . Claiming that it was a CBS show appears to be wrong.

If we set the show to syndicated and use the earliest possible dates would that be a easy compromise?
