Image Copyright Attribution

Hi,

I need some clarity regarding image copyright attribution for my application. As per the terms of use, the API is licensed under CC 4.0 BY-SA, what is the copyright information for the poster images returned by the API?

Would the following be a correct attribution or is there a specific wording required for using the poster images returned by the API?
"This/These image(s) is/are licensed under CC BY 4.0"

Need to ensure that all images in my application are correctly attributed and are not in violation of anything.

Thanks

Thanks for asking!

The BY-SA license is pretty relaxed and so are we. There's no need to accompany every image coming from our API with a "This/These image(s) is/are licensed under CC BY 4.0" disclaimer; attributing TVmaze as the data source somewhere on the page/your app (with a link, where applicable) is sufficient.

Hi David,

Thank you for getting back to me.

I have actually been advised by the app store to add attribution in order to not be in violation of intellectual property or impersonation. So basically the poster images need to be properly credited.

Any advice?

If it's posters from shows, you can credit the networks. Since you can get the information through the API it shouldn't be an issue to do so correctly. When crediting us as information source, we appreciate a linkback.
