Refund?

Sair wrote a year ago: 1

Warning!!  Today I got an email scam which looked genuine - email address tvmaze.com - but it had a hidden scammer's email address underneath which I didn't notice at first.  Some hacker may have stolen our email addresses! I didn't notice the scammers hidden email until after I paid, trusting the @tvmaze.com email address on the header of the email.  Thankfully, as is my normal practice I went to the legitimate tvmaze website and paid there, as I would never click a link in an email.  I was stupid and did NOT check my banktivity app until later when I discovered I already paid in October and forgotten about it and the fact that I have it on yearly auto renew with PayPal.  What can I say... I was tired. Scammers have my email address from tvmaze or paypal records or somewhere and I have had to cancel my debit card to be careful.  Has anyone else received this email?  If it's a double subs payment direct to tvmaze how do I get a refund for the unnecessary second payment? What a mess and so embarrassing.

@Sair Can you forward the mail to contact@tvmaze.com for us to have a look at?

FYI: We did send an email earlier today regarding Paddle cancelling everyones premium by accident and that everyone does need to renew their accounts. And as I've mentioned in a previous thread, we are communicating with paddle to handle any discrepancies between the previous end dates and the new ones after renewal.

Here's a screenshot of where the button was to add the code: https://imgbb.com/6DcmGxK
@mad_man1983 I'm not able to add the coupon to it anymore. But what I can do is extend the next subscription date by 25% (Feb 24, 2025) is that acceptable for you?

didnt see that button, probably because i was expecting to see a field to write the code in :P doesnt realy matter though, it's not that much money anyway since i only have the bronze subscription and would have paid that anyway without the error happening

It's indeed not that obvious.
I already extended the renewal date. Thanks for the support and understanding of the situation. @mad_man1983

When I go to the premium/dashboard link I have this message... "You are currently subscribed to Premium Bronze. Your subscription is cancelled and will expire at 2024-03-28."
So, do I need to go ahead and rejoin or wait until March 28?

Oh so it was from TVMaze after all.  So I have paid £48 twice. Once on 2023-11-26 and originally on auto renew with PayPal on 2023-10-03 which has been my usual renewal date for Silver.  Can I get a refund for the overpayment please?

@Sair

I'm still waiting for communication from Paddle. I believe if you want to cancel and get a refund, you can without any issues.
However there are also other solutions and maybe it's best if you wait until we get this discrepancy resolved between the previous subscriptions that were cancelled and the newly created ones.

Sair wrote a year ago: 1

I'll wait.  Please advise here when you have answers.  Thanks.

I also got the email and ignored it.  I figured it had to be a scan somehow.  I had just paid for another year and am not going to pay for another one.  If it is real, TVmaze will have to figure out how to fix it.  I'm not going to pay for another year until Oct. 2024.

Jan wrote a year ago: 3

@Sair @KitKimes no need to pay for another year. After Paddle's messup it was important to notify everyone of what had happened. But now there is a second issue related to the recalculation of the renewal/extension after re-subscribing which is not how we(David and myself) expected it would be handled.
It's up to Paddle now to come with a solution through their system. And we're communicating with them about it.

Either way, if they don't come with a solution we can still take action on our end (TVMaze) to solve this for anyone who re-subscribed.

@Sair We've extended the renewal dates of the currently active subscriptions with the amount of time left prior to the cancellation.
We will send out an official email next week to everyone who was affected.

Thanks again for the patience and trust in TVmaze. We appreciate you.
